Accessibility statement
Last updated: 21 October 2026
KENEWA wants everyone in our community to be able to use this website: elders and young people, people using phones or screen readers, and people who find reading hard or are reading in their second language.
What we do
- We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA.
- Text and buttons have strong colour contrast, and text can be enlarged up to 200% without breaking the page.
- Everything can be used with a keyboard, with a clearly visible focus outline, and there is a "Skip to main content" link on every page.
- Pages use proper headings, labels and landmarks so screen readers can move around them.
- Photos that carry information have descriptions; decorative images are hidden from screen readers.
- Forms explain what went wrong and how to fix it, next to the field and in a summary at the top.
- The site works on small phones, and buttons and links are large enough to tap.
- We keep movement to a minimum and respect your device's "reduce motion" setting.
- We write in plain Australian English, in short paragraphs.
Known limits
- Some older documents, such as the constitution and Welfare Fund Policy PDFs, may not work well with every screen reader. Ask us and we'll send the information in another format.
- Pages and services run by other organisations that we link to have their own accessibility.

If something on this website is hard to use, or you'd like information in another way (larger print, read aloud over the phone, or with a free interpreter through TIS National on 131 450), tell us: call or WhatsApp 0475 140 471, or email info@kenewa.org. A committee member will reply, usually within two days.
