Mentors and role models
Members working in health, agriculture, education, trades and business share how they got there, and help with CVs, interviews and course choices.
Youth and students
For Kenyan students at UNE and TAFE, and for young people growing up in Tamworth, Armidale and across New England. Find friends, a mentor and a voice.
Starting university far from home is hard. KENEWA has members in Armidale who have done it before: they can meet you at the bus, show you where to buy ugali flour, and invite you to Kenyan gatherings.
UNE's own support for international students, counselling and accommodation is at une.edu.au (opens in a new tab).
Members working in health, agriculture, education, trades and business share how they got there, and help with CVs, interviews and course choices.
Family sports days, football and running groups, and the children's games at Jamhuri and Madaraka days.
Music, dance, food and Kiswahili at our family days, so young people keep a link with home.
The Student Representative brings young people's ideas to every committee meeting. Members aged 18 and over can vote and stand for the committee.
Help at events, take photos, or run a stall: good experience for a CV and a reference. Volunteer.
Adults who work with children at KENEWA hold a NSW Working With Children Check. Read our child safety commitment.
Under 18? Talk to your parent or guardian first: people under 18 can join with their written consent.
Unity is strength. Join KENEWA as a community member or a welfare member.
Community membership is $30 a year. Welfare membership is $200 a year: $30 registration and $170 to the welfare fund. Questions first? Talk to us.
